Norma,
I think you are doing a great job. Thank you for introducing me to Inside Web Marketing.
Thank you, Valda! Be sure to enter your email above and answer the question above so we can post a link to your website or blog when this post goes live! I’ll notify you when that happens. Have an awesome day! Cheers ~Norma
Great tips all over and I really want to say YES to #12 and based on doing writing a la #9. And #5…yes…that makes me laugh.
There is wisdom we need to hear from the readers of this post! What is working (or not) for you?
I am firm believer in keeping at it. Says the obsessive writer in me born at the age of 9.
You never know who will find you one day. You could (blogging as your dog) get discovered and have a sponsor pay the equivalent of 1/2 your mortgage…TRUE STORY…
Deborah!
Hi Deborah – I agree! Keeping at it is the key
Love the mortgage story…maybe someday–lol! Cheers ~Norma
I do write a business blog and have been doing so off and on for about a year and a half. Like others, finding the time to write a piece that readers would find worthwhile can be a challenge, especially when I am travelling.
I am slowly increasing my readership and supporting my blog with a FB page. I would like to increase the frequency of my posts and to reach out to more readers.
Hi Diane – thanks for taking time out to share your thoughts. I know that keeping content fresh, interesting, and full of value for readers can be the most challenging aspect of having a blog. Chris Brogan has an article called 20 Blog Topics to get you unstuck here: http://www.chrisbrogan.com/20-blog-topics-to-get-you-unstuck/ that I find helpful to get me thinking when I’m not sure what I’m going to write about next! Enjoy. Cheers ~Norma
I have been blogging for about 4 months. More in the last 2. Some about my history and some about my business. I think that we are all wanting to connect and a blog is a great way to get to know the persons you may eventually do business with. The more of “you” that you put in the more people will realize your true worth and value. My business has grown by the people I have met through blogging. So I will continue to for both myself and for my business.
Hi Susan – I think your insight is spot on. Blogs give us a way to connect with one another that is completely unprecedented in business. We have an opportunity to actually build a community around our brand and provide value around the things we are passionate about. On top of that, blogging let’s search engines like Google “see” us, which in turn makes it easier for customers to find us online–its a win-win all around!
Hi Norma,
Actually, this address is to my e-zine – http://bit.ly/58D20n is to my web. No, I haven’t blogged yet, actually. In a way, I’ve felt my e-zine was somewhat of a ‘blog’. ‘To blog, to e-zine or to Social Media’ – or all 3? I guess the answer is all 3. What are your thoughts, Norma? I appreciate this opportunity & thank you!
Best to you,
Jane
Hi Jane – I say definitely all three. The more you are out there, the more you will be found and that is the goal of most business–attract more customers and friends and build a community around our brands. Blogs and social media allow you to interact with your community in a way that isn’t possible on most websites. I hope this answers your question! Feel free to contact me if I can help you with any further clarification. Cheers! ~Norma
Like many small business owners, finding the time to blog is key. I blog for business but never had a blog until the business was launched. One tip that really helped was the 31 Days to build a better blog challenge. It really kept me accountable and helped me discover many useful tools to help me blog!
Christine – thanks so much for the tip! That is a fantastic resource. Darren Rowse is the master of all things blog, and 31 Days to Build a Better Blog (there is a link in the sidebar above if you would like to check it out!) is chock full of useful information that we can actually use to improve our blogging. Love it! Cheers ~Norma
I blog for fun and I blog for business. I try to write about what interests me and what I would wonder about if I were reading a blog. That makes it more fun for me and hopefully more interesting for the reader.
Absolutely, Diane. I think the authenticity of just being yourself is easy for people to discern–and people are drawn to blogs that are real. They can relate! Cheers! ~Norma
This is great! As someone who is new to blogging, I love reading about other people’s tips and ideas. Keep up the good work!
Isn’t it great! I love hearing all these other entrepreneur’s perspectives on blogging. I’ll be asking another group question soon, Kim, so stay tuned in case you would like to participate. Cheers ~Norma
It’s so nice to hear what others are saying about blogging. Sometimes, a little reassurance is necessary. I will keep plugging away as I am confident blogging will eventually bring in some wonderful clients!
