Make a Facebook Page for Your Business!

Make a Facebook Page

by Norma

If you don’t have a Facebook page for your business, you are missing an amazing opportunity to grow a loyal community around your brand. Pages are different from your personal profile page on Facebook, and there are a ton of advantages to having a page for your business, which I recently discussed in my Facebook for Business post. But I do hear from a lot of people who are not sure how to make a Facebook page, so I’ve put together this little tutorial for you.

The question is whether you want to make a Facebook page for your business on your own, or hire a professional to help you. Either way has costs and benefits. In this post we’ll look at making your own page, and in my next post, we’ll take a look at some different kinds of professional options available to help you with this process.

Make a Facebook Page on Your Own

Step 1: Head on over to www.facebook.com and click on the Create a Page link near the bottom of the page.

Step 2: Select the type of business or organization your page will represent.

Step 3: Fill in the options under your business type and click Get Started.

Step 4: You can create a separate account for the page if you don’t want the business to be associated with your own personal profile, or you can select I already have a Facebook account and create a page that is associated with your personal profile.

Step 5: That’s it! You have created your own business page on Facebook. Now you will just follow the step-by-step instructions (right there on your new page) to upload a logo image (that will also appear next to all of your posts), add content, and get started letting the world know about your new page.

Now that you have your page, you’ll want to start learning what you need to do to build your Facebook community around your brand. You will want to create or get help with your Facebook content so you will have plenty of relevant, high value information available for the people who “LIKE” your page. You can also visit my article, Facebook for Business: Make the Conversation Good for three key tips on keeping your community engaged and growing.

With my next post, we’ll take a look at different options you have available to you to get some help for your Facebook page, whether you are just getting started, or already have a page and want to take it to the next level. Cheers and success to you! ~Norma

Thanks, Norma. I’m ready to get my business page up and running once again. Perhaps I should celebrate with some chocolate. LOL
